Break The Cycle assembly: by Mark Rittgers, Aleksandra Belugin and Carina Mangano

 On March 7th the 7th and 8th graders had an assembly led by Break the Cycle which is an anti-bullying and anti-violence program that travels the world spreading non-violence. This took place in the gym with 3 guest speakers from Break the Cycle who told stories of  non-violence, forgiveness and being a better person. The guest speakers were  Kathrine last name not found(whose older brother died of a drug overdose.) Ann Marie  D'Aliso (  whose son died committed suicide from depression) and Hashim Garret(who joined a gang and was shot six times in the back and legs by another kid with a sub machine gun and was paralyzed from the waist down.) They told stories of how to forgive people and to practice non-violence. At the end of the assembly each student received a copy of the book 'WHY FORGIVE?' by Johann Christopher Arnold.
